About the Artist:GOLDA SIROTA (1903-1992) was an American artist who specialized in abstract modern landscape art. Her choice of media was wide and often varied; from collages, to acrylics and pen and ink works.Golda started early in her career, entering the Newark School of Fine Arts as a special student at an age of only 11 years old. In subsequent years her family moved to the West Coast and Golda entered the esteemed Chouinard School of Art in Los Angeles. She was later accepted into the UCLA School of Art at the University of California at Los Angeles. There she studied under Arnold Mesches and John Altoon. One can see how Golda was inspired by Altoon's works in particular, as small elements of his work can be seen in hers.Golda Sirota's work has been shown in institutions, such as the Los Angeles County Museum, Pasadena Museum of Art, De Young Memorial Museum, California Palace of the Legion of Honor, etc.
