About Stewart Wavell-Smith
Between commissioned works, Wavell-Smith devotes much of his time to paintings that honor the U.S. Military, as evidenced by his work on his web site. As a child in England during World War II, Wavell-Smith was influenced by the U.S. Army Air Corps., and the support his family received from those generous warriors. Their actions committed him on his certain and eventual path to America.
After graduating from the Royal Academy of Art with a degree in fine art and graphic design, he worked for Greenly's Advertising in London, which was part of the Richard Lonsdale-Hands Organization. In 1963 he was recruited by Lennen and Newell Advertising Agency on Madison Avenue in New York City.
