This smock parka was developed for operators supporting the takeoff and landing of fighter jets on the flight decks of aircraft carriers, and was adopted by the British Royal Navy from the 1960s to the 1990s.
This item is a reproduction that faithfully recreates the details, featuring the most distinctive Ventile fabric.
It replicates the gimmicks of the hood, designed to accommodate earmuffs, as well as the cable fixing flaps for communication equipment on the chest and the cord holes in the pockets.
The pullover design, including the voluminous raglan sleeve silhouette, allows for a versatile fit: wear it in a just-right size or go for an oversized look – it's a very adaptable piece.
From the materials to the sewing, everything is made in Japan, and the key Ventile fabric is sourced from Daiwabo, a domestic textile manufacturer. The ultra-high-density woven fabric has passed inspection standards for water resistance, water repellency, breathability, and air permeability, faithfully reproducing the Ventile's function of having excellent moisture-proof and waterproof properties despite being 100% cotton.
