On offer is this lovely antique wooden butter mold/press. This is the two-part, plunger style of mold where the design is impressed using the knobbed handle. The design here is reminiscent of the inner area of a sunflower (known as the disc floret), and likely of Pennsylvania Dutch origin. A beautiful handmade, chip-carved piece. Condition-wise, there are a few marks, a small chip on the knob, and minor splits in the wood; none of which take away from the beauty of the design, nor its function. Please see all photos and ask necessary questions before purchasing. Thank you!
Approximate measurements: Height when plunger is pressing down; 5.3 . Height when plunger is extended; nearly 7 . Widest point of outer mold casing: 4.6 . Diameter of inner mold: 3.75 .
