A nicely detailed pendant featuring a large natural turquoise cab that has all of the earmarks of being from the Hachita group of mines in Old Hachita in Grant County, New Mexico. The cab is light blue/aqua in color & has a splotchy tan matrix with accents of darker brown. The stone has a hairline crack that runs horizontally above the center. The enlarged photos show the extent of the crack & make it look worse than it does to the eye alone. Turquoise is a soft stone that's prone to cracks & chips over time , especially when untreated, as this one is. The pendant measures 1 3/4 long from the top of the bale x 1 1/4 at the widest. The cab is securely set (no wiggle) in a plain bezel & framed by applied twisted wire & a series of coiled wire S's that imitate petals. I strung the pendant on a fine 25 sterling silver rope chain that's marked 925 Italy IJC on the spring ring clasp. The pendant, itself. is unmarked, but tests as sterling. The set have a combined weight of 15.8 grams
