Surahi is a jug or a jar. Or it's called aAftaba or Ewer and is essentially a Mughal discovery in India.
Aftabas were generally used to carry coffee, tea or water.
This piece is in good, vintage, used condition. The intricate engraved design combined with the curves of the handles and spout add to the elegance of the piece. The finish is wearing in some places due to age, but it only adds to the vintage charm.
