Introducing the M-51 Mod Coat Shell Parka PARKA SHELL from FOB FACTORY. This is the M-51 shell parka produced by the US military in 1951. It is commonly known as the Mod Coat or Mod Parka because it was favored by the Mods, a general term for the lifestyle popular among young people in the UK from the 1950s to the 1960s.
The material used is a reproduction of the moleskin used in the US military flight jacket B-9. Woven with three-ply yarn, the moleskin is high-density, strong, and flexible, with little fluff, a unique luster, and is dyed with VATDYE, allowing for aging and changes over time. The front closure features a double-slider zipper and a snap-buttoned fly front. The details of the actual garment are reproduced, including the hood, waist and hem drawcords, flap pockets, fishtail, and sleeve cuff adjusters. The length has been slightly shortened, and the silhouette is slightly relaxed, making it easy to match with current styling, finished with FOB FACTORY's skillful pattern adjustments. This shell parka can be worn with casual styles as well as suits and jacket styles.
