I love the feel of the handle when carrying this basket, it's smooth, no rough edges & fits perfectly. I counted at least 24 rings around the knot inside. There's so many wonderful colors & textures, it's easy to get lost in time when gazing at it. This work of art is made from a previously logged fir tree. The trunk was carefully carved out leaving the roots intact to naturally form the handle. It was kiln dried, tested for appropriate moisture content & then coated w/several coats of finish.
