I purchased it a few years ago for about 100,000 yen. Since buying it, it has not been used for everyday wear but rather on outings, and it has been stored for about the last two years. Due to changes in my lifestyle, it hasn’t been used much, so before selling, I invested 16,500 yen in maintenance at Style Craft, which included color repair and replacement of some brass fittings.
The material is luxurious camel leather characterized by its fine texture. Camels are animals that live in desert areas where the temperature difference between day and night exceeds 30 degrees. To protect themselves from these temperature variations, their skin surface is fine and has a flexibility that makes it one of the high-quality leathers known. It is said to be twice as strong as cow leather, but it is extremely scarce and difficult to obtain in large pieces suitable for bags. As a result, it is often used for smaller items like wallets, and bags that lavishly use camel leather are not common, with this particular shape currently not available for sale.
I also use a camel leather wallet from Style Craft, which has developed quite a shine, but this backpack has been used less, so it has not yet shown much aging-related luster.
I maintained it with German-made SUPREME cream.
- There are a few small black stains inside that appear to have been caused by the cream during maintenance.
- There are some areas on the leather that show signs of deterioration due to the storage period, but if you continue to moisturize it with creams, it can still be used for a long time.
Due to the nature of the leather, there is a tendency for the color to fade and take on a brownish shade of the original leather, but I believe it can be used for a long time if you take care of it with cream!
