
These earrings are from an estate purchase and were in super excellent condition showing no signs of use until I goofed while acid testing the metal and took the gold plating off the top portion of one of the ear wires. You can see in the photos what it looks like. It shouldn’t be noticeable while wearing the earrings but nonetheless I’ve marked them at a lower price to compensate.
White freshwater cultured coin pearls with 1 mm faceted garnet beads dangling on yellow gold plated over sterling silver wire. I couldn’t make out the stamp on the ear wires so I acid tested. They’re definitely sterling silver as the acid turned bright red immediately but ate the gold plating off where I tested as I mentioned above.
Please note that the pinkish orangish reddish stones look like garnet at first glance and test as garnet, however they also look like tourmaline and test as tourmaline too. I settled on garnet since it’s more common in beads like this.
