Cora, the apple gourd began as a seedling on a farm! To make this unique pumpkin, I carve an actual dried apple gourd and clean out the middle. I then carve her face by hand, just as you would a fresh jack-o-lantern. Translucent paints and waxing show off the gorgeous shell of the pumpkin gourd feels wonderfully smooth to the touch.
I like to dress my whimsical pumpkins in style, so I channel my inner Madd Hatter and create beautiful fall themed hats. I use the gourd top to make the hat for the coordinated gourd bottom. The hats have a wonderful fall feeling with lots of texture and foliage. This makes each pumpkin gourd truly unique, with its own personality.
