The New Balance M997SOC “Elevated Basics” Uppers are mainly split between a patinated, tumbled brown leather and a stone-washed denim material — the latter on toebox and heel, the former on mudguard, heel overlays, throat and tongue. There’s also a rich brown suede present on the quarter that serves as the perfect resting point for a tumbled brown leather “N” logo rimmed by a white outline. A dark bordeaux hue is used on the collar’s lining, while an eggshell-colored New Balance embroidery on the tongue and heel tab team with the light laces to provide contrast.
