Mid century brass fire guard with 9 fans that are adjustable and extend out and hold their position thanks to a turn of the top handle. When not in use, the screen folds back in and another twisting of the handle keeps them tucked away. Extremely heavy, this vintage 1940s-50s piece weighs well over 10lbs. A cameo face is featured in the upper portion on both sides, and floral design is found both top and bottom. There is a very Art Deco, Victorian vibe to this guard, and one company known for their production is Hollywood Regency- neoclassical motif, for sure! The patina has been left on, leaving the decision to remove it or enjoy it aged to the next owner. Fan is in good condition and is missing one screw at base, but still feels very solid and secure without it; see pictures for details.
