Magnificently embellished with 27 colors and hand-painted 22k gold, Tobacco Leaf was the 18th centuryβs most coveted pattern and still looks as bold and brilliant today. A tiny phoenix perches atop a central bouquet of lush leaves and flowers of the Nicotiana (Tobacco) plant, symbolizing the beauty of rebirth, while delicate scallops and blooms festoon the rim. Each piece is beautifully handcrafted of white porcelain, undergoes five firings, and is hand glazed by the artisans of Mottahedeh, a company dedicated to reproducing treasured antique patterns since the 1950s. This pattern, one of the longest running patterns by Mottahedeh, continues its strong popularity today, showing that good design is timeless. Tobacco Leaf is an authorized reproduction from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Made in Portugal. Approximately 4.25 inches tall.
