Unique Pair of Frederick Cooper Table Lamps - Art is from the Museum of American Folk Art - Painted Portraits of Mr. & Mrs. Churchill painted by Thomas Ware prior to the 1840's.
I have done extensive research on these lamps. They are Underwiters Laboratories Portable lamps with issue BC-73, 962, E-23196. One HAD a Frederick Cooper Lamp sticker which unfortunately fell off somewhere between storage and photos, but the outline of the sticker is still visible. This is a one of a kind pattern and unlike any Frederick Cooper Lamp I have seen. I believe at some point these were recovered/redesigned over original design which was a Chinese Crane motif. When light hits the lamp there is a faint outline of cranes, which is a searchable image for his lamps. The bottom of this lamp also has a series number.
Some signs of wear include dings on tin lid of the canister and wooden base, and a
small dent on the back of one. - see pics
These lamps are very unique, but I have price
