Antique Chinese 1800's Canton Export Blue White Stoneware Railroad Teapot Lid Near Mint Condition, no Chips, Cracks, or Repairs, Nice Patination and Mineral Deposits that Attests to Age and Authenticity. Has Original Metal Handles with Fiber Wrapping. Recovered in Mission, Texas and has Resided in my Personal Collection for around 20 years. Originally These Came in a Woven Basket with Fabric Liner. They were Exported Wordwide out of Hong Kong during the 1800-1900 time frame, often used by Gold Rush Miners and Railroad Workers of Chinese Ethnicity. Have seen a similar example in the Lytton, British Columbia Museum Collection. Comparable in Style and Form to Rose Medallion Style Teapots from the mid 1800's, but this one is made with Hand Painted Blue Color, then Glazed. This Antique Canton Export blue and white lidded teapot is in good pre owned clean condition, no breakage issues, some rough spots on base where 1800s artisan did not glaze as much, 6.5 tall.
