Magnificent pair of 800 silver and turquoise glass earrings with ropework, granulation, and cannetille work. A large sunburst is set with a deep turquoise glass that looks like fine turquoise, and has a rich, expensive color.
The hoops are tubular silver, and the ear wires are attached like a small head pin. They open and close very easily, and are secure.
There earrings are hallmarked with the Egyptian Lotus, which indicates it is Egyptian, the 800 silver mark, what we think is a Cairo assay mark, and what we think is a mark for 1985, but my Arabic is a bit rusty.
The earrings are 60 mm long, or 2 1/2 , and 1 1/4 or 34 mm wide. The earwires are a it thicker than usual, as is typical of Egyptian jewelry. 20.9 grams tw.
