1935A 1 Silver Certificate, Hawaii Emergency Issue
History: Issued after the attack on Pearl Harbor, these notes were printed for use in Hawaii. The word HAWAII is overprinted on both sides, and the Treasury seal and serial numbers are in brown ink instead of the usual blue. This was done so that, if Hawaii was captured, the U.S. could instantly devalue any currency seized by the enemy.
Collectibility: These notes are highly sought after by collectors due to their unique history and limited survival, as most were destroyed after the war. Please see pics and judge for yourself.
