This short fencing saber possesses a hand crafted carbon steel blade with a fuller down its spine, and a fine point at its tip. Like many swords of the era, this blade was still designed to be a thrusting weapon, and so it echoes the style of fencing hilts, possessing a blackened swept hilt with knuckle-guard, to provide an excellent measure of defense for the wielders hand. Included with the sword is a wooden, leather wrapped scabbard, which serves well in keeping the blade safe and secure when it is not drawn. It is definitely a stark change from the typical renaissance rapier, but for the sword-master who wants something distinctive and different, yet still deadly in design, this Blackened Short English Saber is a delightful departure from the norm.
