■Description
The L-2, which appeared in 1945 as the successor to the A-2, is a lightweight flight jacket designed to be worn in the light zone temperature range. Unlike the MA-1 and other common flight jackets, which are filled with insulation for cold protection, the L-2 features a sleek silhouette without bulkiness.
Following the L-2, which was first issued in the 1940s, the L-2A was a successor model with a NAVY body color.
The L-2A was adopted only for a very short period in the 1950s, but during the Korean War, its distinctive air force blue was considered too conspicuous. Due to this background, the number produced was very small, making it a highly valuable vintage item.
We have carefully analyzed the actual item, paying attention not only to the moist texture of the nylon but also to the size and even the three-dimensional structure of the armholes.
