Antique Ethnic Jippi Jappa Basket Large Round UFO Shaped Lidded Jippi Jappa Basket. I purchased this one on a day I had a wild hair and didn’t know anything about it. I have done an extensive amount of research on this beauty. I found a few in various museums (have attached some images) and they were kind enough to confirm and assist me with confirming it’s orientation and estimated early 1900’s. This basket is in remarkable condition! The only flaw is there there is a little bit of loose weaving on the lid on the bottom side that is hidden when the lid is placed on. I was planning on keeping this one as part of my permanent collection. But, times change and frankly, I don’t have the room in any of my cases. I also attached some information about these baskets from the museum. For some reason when I took photos of the bottom the photos darkened a bit. This color is true in all the other photos.
